INFANT CARE

OUR PROGRAM

Children grow and learn best when their needs are being met in a predictable, safe environment. Our program has space for 6 infants, and we maintain a 1-3 ratio. This lower room capacity and staff ratio increase the one-on-one interactions that are pivotal for a strong child/ caregiver bond.

Our infant program provides care for children 6 weeks to 18 months. During the first 12 months, each child has a different daily routine. The infant room staff work closely with families to provide individualized care. Each day for your child will start at home, and we continue the day using that information as a jumping-off point.  As your child grows and their needs change from bottles only to spoon feeding to table food, we will work together to adapt the daily routine. 

As children near 12 months of age, we work to move children’s daily routine closer to that of the toddler program. By 17-18 months old, each child should be eating on the breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack routine, be drinking from a sippy cup, taking one nap a day, and beginning to walk up and down the steps.

ENVIRONMENT

The room is split into two sections. In the sleep space, lights are dimmed, and white noise and soft music provide an ideal sleeping environment. Our play area has areas to develop large motor skills, such as sitting, crawling, climbing, and pulling up to stand. All toys are available on low shelves and in baskets ready for children to explore. Once children are able to sit independently, they are given meals at an infant-sized table with infant-sized chairs. 

You will provide diapers, wipes, creams or ointments, bottles (ready to feed daily), and extra clothing. We provide pureed food, solid foods, and whole milk in alignment with the food program. 

Daily Routine per each child’s individual needs: 

• Eat

• Play 

• Sleep

Diapers are changed as needed or at least every two hours. 

Outside time is available at 9:30 & 3:00, weather permitting.



OUR TEACHERS

Our staff members are warm and nurturing, experienced and educated teachers. We maintain a 1:3 teacher-to-child ratio that allows for each child to be held, loved, and played with as much as possible. Teachers strive to follow each parent’s schedule, while daily notes keep families informed about all that happens throughout each child’s day. Learn more about the team.
